35.6 thousand km2 and has over 5 million inhabitants. It borders with 6 other
provinces. Our province has 159 cities and 9400 villages. There is also the
Polish capital, Warsaw.
In Mazovia there is a beautiful Kampinos National Park, established in
1959 and other valuable natural areas - 9 landscape parks and 171
nature reserves.

Many relics of the past preserved in Mazovia - including ruins of the
medievial residence of first Dukes of Mazovia in Czersk or tens of noble
mansions, which include a manor house in Zelazowa Wola, the birthplace
of Frederic Chopin. In Karolin, near Warsaw is the seat of the famous
"Mazowsze" – State Folk Group of Song and Dance, which maintains
traditional repertoire of songs and dances of the Mazovian countryside.
Other interesting places are the fortress of Modlin, and Konstancin or
Płock, one of the oldest towns in Mazovia.
